Joseph Williams
Board Member
Joseph R. Williams serves as the Clerk of the Board of Trustees for the San Bernardino Community College District, overseeing institutions like Crafton Hills College and San Bernardino Valley College, and the PBS and NPR affiliate station Empire KVCR. Williams has been a trustee since 2013, representing Area 2 which includes Muscoy, Rialto, and San Bernardino. Additionally, he is the Community Agent of Strategic Partnerships at the Rialto Unified School District and a gubernatorial appointee to the California Community Colleges Board of Governors and a member of the Board of Trustees for Calbright College. Prior to his current roles, Williams has also worked in Local Public Affairs, Community Engagement, and Corporate Philanthropy at Southern California Edison. He co-founded the Youth Action Project (YAP), focusing on student preparation for college and career success. Before founding YAP, Williams served the County of San Bernardino for nine years, working in behavioral health, workforce development, and sheriff’s departments. An alumnus of Crafton Hills College and San Bernardino Valley College, Williams holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Redlands and a master's degree in social impact from Claremont Lincoln University.
