Juanda is the General Counsel for Calbright. She brings over three decades of experience as a practicing attorney, including 17 years in higher education and 13 years representing California public agencies. She previously served as General Counsel for the University of La Verne, where she established the university’s inaugural Office of General Counsel. In this role, she was a member of the President’s Executive Cabinet, working collaboratively with internal university constituents and external stakeholders to develop a system for providing legal resources to promote efficient and compliant university operations. She also was responsible for policy development and training in a variety of areas to facilitate the execution of the university’s strategic plan.

Juanda also previously served as University Counsel for the California State University system, working closely with campus presidents and senior administrators in providing a wide range of legal advice and services aimed at minimizing legal exposure and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

In addition to representing California institutions of higher education, Juanda also previously served as a tenured law professor and inhouse counsel for both the City of Riverside and the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority.

Juanda holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Dominguez Hills, as well as a Juris Doctor degree from Emory University School of Law.
