Originally from Central Valley (Modesto, California), Miesha has dedicated her career to closing the academic, economic, and social barriers for students across California. Miesha holds a Doctorate Degree from Argosy University, Masters in Counseling from USC, and undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley.

With over 20 years experience; Miesha has served in a variety of Higher Education positions as School of Education Counseling Faculty, Education Consultant, Program Coordinator, at the University of California System, Peralta Community College District, St Mary’s College of California, and various Education Research organizations such as Ed Trust West. In addition , Miesha has served as school counselor in K-12 school districts including the Oakland Unified School District . Long Beach Unified School District, and the Los Angeles Unified School District. She continues consultant services in the area of financial aid education and college access best practices with the Chicago- based Education Technology company, Bridge To College.
