Dr. Payel Bhattacharya Madero has been privileged to teach and mentor students in health information management and medical coding for the past fifteen years, for both in-person and online certificate programs. Her professional experience provided the foundation to contribute her knowledge and expertise to a few Elsevier published textbooks such as the 13th and 14th edition of Fordney’s Insurance Handbook for the Medical Office and the 14th edition of Kinn The Medical Assistant which was released June 2016. In Winter 2019, Dr. Madero solely authored the Complete RHIT and RHIA, an AHIMA certification test prep book with online simulations and a 1000-question test bank. Dr. Madero, a strong believer in continual education, completed her Doctorate of Business Administration in October 2022.
Teaching with Calbright College provides a unique opportunity to teach students from diverse areas of California; this online space establishes a dynamic learning environment that promotes cross-cultural sharing of ideas. Having a small part has been a highlight of my professional career as a medical coding and billing instructor.
