Calbright Connects With Job Seekers at Antelope Valley College Fair

In March, Calbright met with prospective students and spread the word the College’s innovative model at the Business Services Division (BSD) job fair at the Antelope Valley College Palmdale Center.

The fair, which attracted over 300 attendees, aimed to connect job seekers with leading employers in fields like manufacturing, retail, and information technology. It included resources to engage the justice involved, homeless, foster youth, and veteran populations.

Calbright’s representatives provided resources about free, statewide, online community college, and hosted two presentations to job seekers.

“Calbright College was honored to host a resource table at the BSD Job Fair,” said Raul Sarabia, Calbright’s regional outreach coordinator. “This was an enriching experience fostering valuable connections and opportunities for everyone involved. Events like this make a difference in people’s lives. We are thrilled to have been part of this dynamic occasion, and look forward to collaborating on the continued success and impact of such vital initiatives!”

The BSD job fair was organized by America’s Job Center of California Palmdale and Lancaster offices, LA County Office of Education – GAIN Division, and South Bay Workforce Investment Board, along with other essential partners from state and county services.

Additionally, Antelope Valley College, Antelope Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Assemblymember Juan Carrillo of the 39th District played pivotal roles in powering this collaborative initiative.
