“The thing that I really like about Calbright is that the people here are very helpful. They give real support. If you want to learn, they are always here. It’s not just something they say when they tell you: ‘you are not alone.’ They really do make it so that you are not alone in your journey.”

After Isha’s husband was transferred to the United States for work, they settled in Fremont, and she needed to find a career.

“A relative pointed me to Calbright College,” she remembered. “They said: ‘this is an online college where you don’t need to go to the classes in person, and it’s self-paced learning where you can easily manage all of your household work with your kids, and this college doesn’t charge anything, it’s free of cost.’ And that was all true, so I enrolled.”

As a student, she said she discovered something about Calbright that is even more important to her.

“The thing that I really like about Calbright is that the people here are very helpful. They give real support,” she said. “If you want to learn, they are always here. It’s not just something they say when they tell you: ‘you are not alone.’ They really do make it so that you are not alone in your journey.”

Isha was enrolled in the CRM course, which Calbright estimates will take between six to eight months to complete (depending on a student’s own schedule and pace of study), but she decided to take advantage of the flexible pacing and accelerate her education. Isha finished the course in just under four months.

“It was easy to set my own pace,” she said. “They have very well designed modules, and I could easily divide them into daily tasks I wanted to do.”

“I’m thankful and grateful to Calbright, and the faculty and staff who are always there to help and motivate the students. They offer help, they offer support, they empower students to make plans and go for it.”

In Chris’ experience, college just didn’t work for him. “I’d been an on-again-off-again community college student for a really long time,” he said. “I went to school because that’s what you have to do, and it just never really kind of stuck with me. For Richard, making sense of data and complex databases is not too different from understanding language and linguistics, which he studied in college years ago.
